Midland MXT275 MicroMobile GMRS 2-Way Radio

I was a little apprehensive as I have been let down with the ranges of most radios. We hunted with these in 2 trucks with a handheld in each truck when someone left the truck to do a stalk on an animal. We were able to routinely communicate our where about or meet up times at 10-20 miles. This is in South Dakota when the vehicles are parked on a ridge; a person has to be reasonable on what to expect. This was with stock antennas. Please also remember when using radios for hunting it maybe illegal in some locations; generally you can use them for what's your location type info - not there is a deer coming your way type communications though. We had someone tell us we were illegally using the radios by responding to us on our frequency; although they ironically did not us there call sign while doing so(make them the ones breaking the law). These allowed us to communicate it areas with poor cell service and check in for safety concerns when someone was not back on time. Also buytwowayradios gave us good info on what to expect from these units.

I placed an order on Sunday afternoon fro the MTX275 and the Midland external speaker. They arrived Tuesday afternoon. Great radio and speaker, and extremely fast delivery

Shipment received before expected date. This was just the radio I needed for my car. Can put everything in my center console, run the antenna through my trunk, and don't have to worry about any permanent install. Quality appears great and transmission/ receive signals very good for what I expected. Will be upgrading to a better antenna at some point, which is available here to purchase.

Installed this in my X2 R spec Yamaha Wolverine and it's awesome. Small, powerful and super easy to install. Paired it with a couple of Midland 1000 handhelds. Pretty much covers everything I need for offroad communication. Quick shipping and good service topped it all off. Thanks.

Been a CB user for multiple years. Eventually, I got tired of the poor transmission quality, constant tuning issues, and everyone else leaving for GMRS. Decided to join the GMRS side so I can communicate with others while overlanding. This radio, combined with a 6dB antenna gives me a great range near the ocean and decent range in the mountains.

As it turned out, my team who use other GMRS radios all use Wide mode on the FM channels. This radio is only available in Narrow mode and cannot be changed. Therefore, not making useful for my purposes.
Therefore, I sold it to someone else who can use it.
Other than that, I really liked the radio and the form factor and wish I had the option to choose wide or narrow deviation.

Blows away standard distance of typical Motorola radios. I can’t wait to test with upgraded antenna.
